In thinking about leadership, the first thing that may come to mind is: What are the elements in a person that enable them to be a good leader?
The main element of a leader is that he possesses vision. Vision means that he can see a path for the group to follow in order to achieve certain goals.
A second element that makes a person a leader is consideration for others. Because a leader plans, he must always consider the needs and wants of those for whom he is planning.
A third element of leadership is timeliness. A leader keeps aware of time elapsing between goal setting and action steps toward those goals.
A fourth element of leadership is communication. The leader keeps his followers apprised of progress toward goals so that every member of the group is aware of what has already been done and what needs to occur to reach goals.
